Aletha I. Madison Memorial Scholarship

Dear Applicant:

Southfield Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is committed to assisting young people succeed academically. This includes ensuring that students have access to financial resources needed to obtain a college education.

Aletha I. Madison, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and courageously battled cancer for numerous months before succumbing to this disease. cheap ABS Fairings,The family of Aletha I. Madison is providing a $500 book scholarship for a student who has experienced a parent or guardian battling cancer.

Scholarships are available to students who reside within the service areas of Southfield Alumnae Chapter: Berkley, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Birmingham, Clawson, Farmington, Farmington Hills, Ferndale, Franklin, Hazel Park, Huntington Woods, Lathrup Village, Madison Heights, Milford, Northville, Novi, Oak Park, Pleasant Ridge, Royal Oak, Royal Oak Twp., Southfield, Southfield Twp., South Lyon, and Wixom.

Eligibility requirements:
A grade point average of at least 2.5 (based on a 4.0 scale)
Verified acceptance into an accredited college, university, vocational institution or an institution of equivalent accreditation during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Applications must include the following items:
Completed application
Transcript – Student profiles will not be accepted.
Two (2) signed letters of recommendation
One (1) letter of acceptance to a college or university, or an institution of equivalent accreditation
An essay (maximum of 1,000 words)
An signature from a parent or guardian
Headshot photograph

Applications must be received by Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

Next Steps:
• Students who have submitted completed applications and who meet the requirements will be notified via telephone or
e-mail to schedule an interview.
• Applicants who are awarded scholarships will be notified in April 2017 and will be recognized on May 20, 2017.
